Planning Form

Consent Form for Changes to your Property:

We all live on a Private Estate  managed by ORRA which is run by resident volunteers. Amongst other things we are charged with safeguarding the unique beauty and timeless elegance of this environment that originally drew us all to this special place.

To this end the Old Ratton Restrictive Covenants require that permission is sought from ORRA for work that effects the exterior of your property, or to external changes within the boundaries of your land. (For example: extensions, windows, doors, major landscaping, driveways, sheds, greenhouses, brick walls, fencing, hedging, all tree surgery, solar panels, flag poles, satellite dishes.)

Please note that you should also use this form if you are planning to make any changes to the trees at either the front or the rear of your property before any work takes place.

The Process

  1. Once you have drawings available contact ORRA (chairman@orra.online) before submitting and application to Eastbourne Borough Council (EBC). If no EBC planning permission is required, contact ORRA before starting work.
  2. Use this online form to request ORRA approval for your project at the beginning of the process.
  3. Share your plans with your immediate neighbours and anyone else nearby who may be affected. Ask them to confirm their contentment in writing, or express any concerns which can be discussed and addressed.
  4. ORRA Committee members will visit you to discuss your plans on site in order to gain a full understanding of your intentions and to potentially identify and resolve any issues.
  5. All being well, ORRA wil grant approval of your plans in writing. Only at this point can you progress to submitting your application to EBC
